Why we like Bridges

Over the years, TLBP has learned that whenever possible, bridges should be used for stream crossings. Though the initial costs are higher than culverts, these costs are negligible due to the reduced maintenance costs of the structure.  Add to the fact that bridges have at least double the life expectancy of culverts.  The most important factor is fish passage.  Culverts decay, and can become blocked from debris during high flow events and impede fish passage.  Bridges allow the stream to flow freely and reduce bank erosion. Below are some examples of our instream work.
